Above and Beyond Poster

This 1943 Navy recruiting poster features heroic Messman Third Class Doris "Dorie" Miller, the first African American to be awarded the Navy Cross, the third highest honor awarded by the U.S. Navy at the time. Doris Miller was honored for his bravery during the attack on Pearl Harbor.
